Aircel records 74% 3G data revenue and 76% 3G consumption growth in 2016

We were present at the BlogUp event conducted by Aircel in Chennai, where Sunil Kuttam – National Head of data and devices explained about their growth in 2016, Merging with Rcom and future plans. Here are the few bytes from the event.

3G Data:

According to the records from Aircel, they have increased 74% 3G data revenue and 76% data consumption growth in this year, by launching a variety of 3G packs and services. The plans include [email protected], 1GB for All, [email protected], 5G for Rs.298, 11GB for Rs.598 and Limit Se Zyada recharge packs, etc., The data packs may vary according to the circles.

Merger with Rcom:

He confirmed that the Aircel-Rcom Merger. Holding hands with Rcom will help them to roll out 4G services and other future development plans starting from 2017.

2017 plans :

  • Merger with Rcom to make them 4th largest telecom player in the Indian industry.
  • Investment on HSN to increase tremendously in 2017 for the merger entity
  • Significant reduction in debt to allow a much higher investment in data networks in 2017

We can also expect many more offers in coming days as it is going to merge with Rcom.

On commenting on the 3G data, Sunil Kuttam – National Head of data and devices said,
