Google I/O is a developer conference conducted by Google every year. Before the event, its app was released in Google Play Store and it was downloaded by many peoples including onsite attendees, participants and the users watchiing the conference from home. More than 5 lakh people downloaded Google I/O 2014 this year globally. With this app the users can get in touch with all the I/O happenings. You can also watch all the keynote and sessions live stream, speaker details, themes, etc., Also this app was developed with best practices for Android app design and development. This app can be installed in devices runnning Android 4.0+. This app also contains Android Wear integration.

As material design was the next android UI update going to rolled out in few months, this I/O app was designed with material design concept and also this app was optimized for Android L Developer Preview. By which you can preview new tactile surfaces, animated touch feedback, bold use of color, and refreshed iconography.

To simplify the process of reusing and customizing the source code to build apps for other conferences, we rewrote the entire sync adapter to work with plain JSON files instead of requiring a server with a specific API. These files can be hosted on any web server of the developer’s choice, and their format is fully documented.
