[How To] View Extensions Of Files in Windows

By default windows hide the extension of known files. Because of this sometimes we got confused about the file type until we open the file.

In windows, you can customize this feature so that you can always view the Extensions Of Files. Once after customization we will see extensions of all file types, if you not like in future then you can re-customize to the old.

How To Steps:

1. Open Control Panel and search for Folder Options.

2. Now Click on Folder Options and a pop up windows will appear.

3. Now Navigate to View Tab

4. From the list of features browse to “Hide extensions for known file types” and uncheck the same.

5. Now Click Ok and now all the files in PC will be available with File Extensions.

Note :

a. To Revert the changes follow the same steps.

b. We have made this tutorial in Windows 8, but the same will be applicable in Windows 7,Vista 7 XP
