Brainwavz has launched their B series earphones B100 and B150 in India during the month of January 2017. We have also covered the launch information on this blog. The B Series earphones have the advanced Balanced Armature speaker technology in order to produce high-grade audiophile sound quality. We got a chance to review one of the B series earphone B100. Brainwavz B100 is a single balanced armature has been tuned to produce a well-rounded sound, focusing on reproducing clear vocals with a controlled bass. The earphone is available in a lot of countries for sale and it is priced at Rs.3850 (approx) in India and $59.5 in the US.
In the past, we have reviewed few other earphones from Brainwavz like BLU-DELTA Bluetooth earphone, Brainwavz Alpha IEM Noise Isolating Earphone, etc., Now we have been using the all new Brainwavz B100 for a month now and here is the detailed review.

Design:
The Brainwavz B100 earphone built with a solid glossy plastic housing with the brand name and L/R indicator. The design looks steady and comfort. The earphone comes with over the ear design along with the cable hooks to fit comfortably in the ears. The earphone fits well in the ear and thanks to the over the ear design. I would suggest you check the 6 sets of silicone ear tips and choose the correct one which fits well in your ear. So that you can make the earphones comfortable with your ears.
The Y section has a cable shortener to adjust the size of the cable. Above the Y-Cord the earphone has normal cable and below the Y-Cord it has OFC (oxygen-free copper) cable which is tangle free and looks premium. The total length of the cable is 1.3 meters. We have a short clip to hold the earphone while action. As usual, the earphone comes with the 3.5 mm (Gold Plated) L-plug which is compatible with all the devices that have 3.5 mm jack. The earphone and its accessories were packed in a hard case and it is easy to protect and carry the earphone with it.

Performance:
As it is a balanced armature earphone, many of us have a high hope of the sound quality? Well, B100 doesn’t disappoint in terms of sound quality. The Brainwavz B100 has a single armature driver which is capable of frequency range up to 15 Hz ~ 22 kHz. The sound quality is decent, crisp, clear and has a separation from the highs to the mid. The highs & the mids were clearly distinguishable. During higher volumes, the treble got too sharp. The mids were present and quite clear with great instrument separation.
We have tested the earphone by playing different sounds and all the sounds were clear and crisp. If you are a great lover of bass, then this earphone is not for you. The bass was clear and it was present. Bass is average in this earphone. The over the ear design feels comfortable and the oxygen free copper cable adds value to the earphone.
There are no music control buttons present in the earphone. Overall, as an entry level Armature Earphone, the Brainwavz B100 performs up to its level.

Final Verdict:
Brainwavz B100 is one of the entry-level balanced armature earphones. The earphone doesn’t disappoint for the price. The earphone is bundled with many accessories and comes in a hard case to carry all of them. The sound quality of the earphone is near the audiophile levels. If you are looking for a decently balanced sound earphone on a budget price, then you may consider Brainwavz B100 as well.
