We have recently posted about the Font used across the Apple Products.
Yes, SF [San Francisco] is the font used for the User Interface across all the Apple products like iOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS. San Francisco Font is a neo-grotesque sans-serif typeface made by Apple Inc. Initially, the font was used in watchOS in 2014 and officially on macOS and iOS operating systems from 2015 to till now. Apple has replaced most of their software and hardware typefaces with the San Francisco font.
The San Francisco typeface has three different variants.
- SF (or SF UI) used for macOS, iOS, and tvOS.
- SF Compact used for watchOS
- SF Mono (based on SF Compact) used for the Xcode application.
The company restricts the usage of the SF[San Francisco] typeface by others because it was designed by Apple. The typeface is licensed to registered third-party developers only for the design and development of Apple platforms applications.
