As per Indian Government, it is mandatory for Indian mobile users to link Aadhaar number with their corresponding mobile numbers. Till yesterday the verification of Aadhaar cards was done at the corresponding mobile operator’s official store, where the customers have to walk into the store and physically verify/link their Aadhaar number with the fingerprint. But, the process is so hard for all customers to walk into the store and verify manually. Due to this process, the deadline to link Aadhaar was extended by the government.
To overcome this manual process, UIDAI [Aadhaar] has issued directives for generating OTP either through the service provider’s website or through the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) services to facilitate the linking, also known as re-verification.
Telecom operators have rolled out the OTP based IVRS linking/verification method. Now the customers have to call 14546 from their mobile number and within few minutes the mobile number will be linked with the Aadhaar.

How to Link Aadhaar with Mobile Number Via OTP:
Step 1: Dail 14546 from your mobile phone.
Step 2: Wait for the IVR voice.
Step 3: Once the call gets connected, you will be asked to select the desired language. Select your desired language as per the instructions.
Step 4: Once the language is selected, you will be asked to enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number. Once entered, telecom network will send the Aadhaar details to UIDAI for verification.
Note: If you have already linked your mobile number with Aadhaar, then the IVR voice will confirm the same, by saying that your number is already linked right after the language is selected.
Step 5: Once verified, you will receive an OTP, which has to be entered during the call itself. After entering the OTP, the call can be disconnected.
Step 6: After the call, you will receive a confirmation SMS that your number is successfully linked with Aadhaar.
We have tested this process in Vodafone and Airtel – which is working fine. In next few days, all the mobile networks will bring this facility to link their Aadhaar number. The last date for reverifying mobile connection with Aadhaar is March 31, 2018.
