As you may aware that, according to the government directive, all the mobile phone users in India have to link their mobile number to their Aadhar by February 6th, 2018. Already the mobile company providers have started this process, where users have to visit the nearest mobile service provider office and have to enroll their aadhar number using the biometric verification. It becomes very difficult to all and also for telecom providers to make this manual process. Hence to overcome this situation, Department of Telecommunication [DoT] has now announced the easiest way to link your aadhar to the mobile number.

Department of Telecommunication has introduced two new processes to verify Aadhar number to be linked to your mobile number.

  • Subscribers can complete the verification process on the corresponding service provider’s website.
  • Subscribers can complete the verification via the voice-based IVR helpline provided by their respective provider.

During any of the above process, an OTP [one-time password] will be sent to the customers, which is considered as the signature of the mobile user. Then by the service providers, the verification will be made with Unique Identification Authority of India [UIDAI].

For Senior Citizens and Physically Challenged:

Non-resident Indians, senior citizens who are above the age of 70 and physically challenged persons who either do not have their mobile number registered with Aadhar can fill an online form along with proof of residence or age or handicap, depending upon the category. The details of a trusted person along with Aadhaar number have to be presented with the form.

Foreign Nationals:

Foreign nationals peoples who are all having Indian mobile numbers can now verify their mobile numbers by filling an online form and uploading copies of their passport and visa through the website of their service provider.

NRI’s:

For NRIs who have an Indian phone number, there is a new process. As per the Department of Telecommunication, this process has to be introduced by the service providers to its users starting from January 1st, 2018.

So, please check with your corresponding telecom service provider by calling the customer care number on the desired process to link your aadhar with mobile number and then proceed to link the same.
