Usage and Review:
I have used this device for almost a month and the overall performance of the phone is Good for the price range. The VoLTE support is available out of the box and I have tested with Jio SIM card, the calls were going through without any issues.
The display is good and bigger with the 5.65 full view display and it is good for watching movies and playing games. The screen looks massive and larger when holding the phone. In terms of storage, we have 32 GB internal storage in which around 22 GB was available for the users. You can also expand the storage up to 128 GB using the dedicated microSD card, which is one of the needed specification. Also, the device supports OTG, where you can connect the pen drive to access the files instantly.
The phones has 3,050 mAh battery and the battery capacity is decent for a normal single day usage. You have battery saver mode or the Ultra low power mode to get more hours on the smartphone.
The camera is Good in performance, whereas the camera app and the picture quality needs to be improved for a 13 MP camera on both sides.
The phone runs on HiOS 2.0 the company’s own operating system with Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box. Even though it has the optimized own operating system, the preloaded apps were very less and which makes sense by unnecessarily installing the unwanted apps on the smartphone. But still, the UI needs some improvements in terms of design, performance and optimization.
I really liked the overall performance and especially the full view display of the phone under this price range. But the UI and RAM management has to be improved, hope the same will be fixed in the future software updates.
- Full View Display at a budget price
- Light Weight
- Decent battery life
- A Dedicated microSD card slot
- Decent Camera
As Tecno is a new smartphone maker and trying to compete with the other competitors, the company needs to concentrate more aspects. Tecno Camon i is priced at Rs.8999 and for the price range, the specifications and features are decent. Although the specifications are good in the Tecno Camon i, the company needs to concentrate more on the operating system [HiOS] and other performance. Overall the smartphone delivers an good performance in our test for the price range.
The Tecno Camon I is available at Rs.8999 and can be purchased both online and offline at local dealers.
