WhatsApp Ending its Support for BlackBerry, Nokia, Windows and Android Older Versions

WhatsApp which is owned by FaceBook has announced that they are going to end the support for some of the mobile platforms.

WhatsApp has recently turned seven years old, in its official blog they have stated about their end of support for some of the mobile platforms. WhatsApp was launched 7 years back in 2009 and it was made available to all the possible platforms by its developers. So considering the present security features and updates, the developers are unable to opt the new features to some of the old versions/models.

The list of mobile platforms going to withdraw support are listed by the team and by announcing it prior to the end date, they are announcing the users to upgrade the mobile platforms, if they are still in the old version.

As per WhatsApp, below are mobile platforms they are going to end their support.

  • BlackBerry, including BlackBerry 10
  • Nokia S40
  • Nokia Symbian S60
  • Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
  • Windows Phone 7.1
