Xiaomi has launched its new smartphone series with stock Android [Android One] in India. Xiaomi Mi A1 is the first smartphone in this new series. Xiaomi has partnered with Google to offer stock android experience to its users. This is the first of its kind and Mi A1 is the first phone to run stock android instead of MIUI. After a quite long time, this is the smartphone with Android One which gives you a pure Android experience.
Xiaomi Mi A1 comes with a tagline “Created by Xiaomi, Powered by Google” which shows the partnership with Google and Xiaomi. Mi A1 is similar to the Mi 5X model announced recently in China, in terms of the internal and external hardware. The only main difference is that Mi A1 comes with stock android whereas Mi 5X runs on MIUI. The Phone is launched at a budget price to cover the Indian market.
The Mi A1 comes with full metal design and it features a 5.5 inch Full HD display with 2.5D curved arc glass and the Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The smartphone features Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Octa Core processor and Adreno 506 GPU. One of the main attraction of the phone is the Dual Camera setup with Two-tone flash. It has dual 12 MP lens in which one is for wide-angle with F/2.2 aperture and the other is for telephoto that offers 2X zoom comes with the F/2.6 aperture.
The phone is packed with 4 GB RAM, 64 GB insternal storage and expandable up to 128 GB with microSD Card. Dual SIM hybrid slot is bundled in this phone, where as the second slot can be used for SIM or microSD card. Both SIM Slots supports 4G VOLTE. Mi A1 comes with 3080 mAh battery and with the USB Type-C connectivity and the custom 380V charger is included for the Indian market.
The phone runs on stock Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box and the company has announced that Android Oreo is guaranteed at the end of 2017 on this phone. Also, this smartphone will be the first in line to get the Android P update in 2018.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 comes in three different colors – Black, Gold, and Rose Gold. The phone is priced at Rs. 14999. The phone will be available for starting from September 12th from 12:00 PM IST on Flipkart, Mi.com, Mi Home and also in offline retail stores.
