Xiaomi has launched its next budget segment smartphone in India, which is the Redmi 5A. This phone is launched after the success of Redmi 4A and Redmi 4 variants. There are two variants announced for this smartphone, one is with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage and the other one is with 3GB RAM and 32GB Storage. The phone is priced at Rs. 5,999 for the 2GB/16GB variant and Rs.6,999 for the 3GB/32GB variant. The phone will be available for sale starting from December 7th, 2017.
Redmi 5A Design, Features and Specifications:
The overall design is similar to the Redmi 4A model. Redmi 5A features a 5 inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display with Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor. Below the screen, we have the capacitive touch buttons. On the backside, we have the camera, flashlight, Mi logo and speaker grill. On the right side, we have the power button and volume rockers, while on the left side we have SIM and microSD card slots.
Both the variants have similar specifications and the only difference is RAM and storage. The phone is equipped with 13MP Camera with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash on the rear side and 5 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture on the front side. We have two SIM slots separately to support two SIM cards and a microSD slot simultaneously. One tray we have SIM card and microSD slot and the other tray has the second SIM slot. The microSD card supports up to 128GB expandable memory.
Apart from that, we have 4G with VoLTE support, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, Infrared, GPS, Accelerometer sensor, Proximity Sensor, Ambient light sensor. There is no Fingerprint sensor available on this smartphone. The smartphone comes with 3000 mAh non-removable battery. Redmi 5A is preloaded with MIUI 9. It comes in Gold, Rose Gold, and Dark Grey Colors.
